Opéra bouffe s’inspirant de Gozzi et de son théâtre surréaliste, secondé par le grand dramaturge russe Meyerhold, Prokofiev compose avec L’Amour des trois oranges un des opéras bouffes les plus réjouissants de l’histoire, une fable brillante et savoureuse, un anti-théâtre radical et jubilatoire, qui est un émerveillement pour tous, petits et moins petits, grands et moins grands.

Drawing inspiration from Gozzi and his surrealist theatre and the great Russian dramatist Meyerhold, Prokofiev composes one of the most joyful opera buffa in history, a brilliant and delectable fable and a radical, exhilarating piece of anti-theatre which is a marvel to all: young and not so young, old and not so old.
Performed at the Opera Bastille from June 23rd to July 13th 2012.
