How can Welshpool town centre respond to recent closures?

National chains Savers and Barclays rocked the town centre in June with closure plans, leaving more black holes on a High Street that has already been stunned by the departure of big names like HSBC, WH Smith and Sainsbury's.

But the town council is fighting back and welcomed around 40 local businesses to a discussion event at The Royal Oak Hotel to present their plans, whilst listening to what issues are being faced and, more importantly, what can be done to breath fresh life into the town centre.
