JKT48/AKB48: Nagai Hikari ~Cahaya Panjang~ Cover & Tribute to Jiro Inao

Hi everyone, long time no see. I have so much to say about this one, but I don't think I'll be able to really convey what I mean... this is my first cover in a while (I still love singing, idols, JKT, and all of those things, don't worry!) and I did it in one day... but it was something I had to do as a tribute to someone so special in the 48G community.

For those of you who haven't heard, Mr. Jiro Inao passed away on March 21, 2017. Jiro-san was the manager for JKT48.

For the JKT48 members, fans, and general community, it was a total shock. He was someone who worked so hard, and you can see that he was so well-loved by many. Several members referred to Jiro-san as a father figure, and I've already found so many fun, endearing stories about his work and silly nature. I'm not going to go further into the details of his passing, but instead, I want to help the community remember him. For his dedication to JKT48, for his passion for his work, for lighting up the stage with laughs when he appeared during an announcement -- for the JKT48 that he believed in and committed his time to.

This is such a sad day for not only the JKT48 community and fans, but undoubtedly for Jiro-san's family and friends. I can't do much to support everyone or change anything, but what I can do is sing, so I wanted to do this cover.

It's mainly in Japanese, featuring a little Indonesian (my apologies for my bad pronunciation) -- and it's of "Nagai Hikari ~Cahaya Panjang~" which is a song that is so special to me. When I was thinking about what I could possibly do or what I could cover, this one immediately came to mind when I thought about Jiro-san. It always made me think of those who have passed but are still looking down on us, guiding us, protecting us, and wrapping us in their light.

Please remember Jiro-san fondly, and let his legacy shed light on the path ahead. Rest in peace.
