No peace at Pipeline

Sunny vs Neco Incident
"SUNNY GARCIA threw the leave-it-in-the-water creed out the window in a heated confrontation with Brazil's Neco Padaratz on the opening day of the Pipeline Masters in Hawaii.

The pair collided on a wave and despite Padaratz's apologies, Garcia was fuming. Hawaii's aggressive multiple Pipeline Masters winner, Triple Crown holder and 2000 world champion swam straight at Padaratz, knocking out his fins and throwing punches. After the heat, Garcia threw his board away and stalked his petrified rival, marching after him until the fleeing Padaratz jumped a fence and hid in the judge's tower. Hawaiians are not averse to taking matters into their own hands when things go pear-shaped at Pipe, and Padaratz needed a security escort to leave the beach. One witness said: "It was insane. Garcia was like a man possessed. Padaratz snaked him on this wave and dropped in on him and then Garcia was just in attack mode. "Padaratz ran up the beach and Sunny came after him, then all the wolf-pack told Padaratz to get off the beach and never come back. Sunny had to be contained by everyone and Neco was saying: 'I didn't do nothin'. They want his blood. Neco needed another police escort back to his house."
